A hands-on workshop for students, researchers, and history enthusiasts on reading and interpreting 18th-century manuscripts related to the Inconfidência Mineira independence movement. Participants will work with facsimile reproductions of original trial documents and correspondence drawn from the museum's collection of over 4,000 historical items. The workshop covers paleography basics, historical context of the conspiracy, and the significance of these documents in shaping Brazilian national identity. The museum, inaugurated in 1944 inside the former Town Hall and Jail of Ouro Preto, is itself a key landmark of this history. Limited to 25 participants. Registration required.
